Accommodations & Logistics

Skeena Wilderness offers some of the most scenic lodging in Canada, nestled in the mountains of the Northwest. With four double-occupancy rooms (two downstairs, two upstairs), we make sure everyone has the space they need during their stay. Groups of four and fewer can choose to sleep one person to a room if desired. Join us for home-cooked meals in the lodge's dining area upstairs and, most importantly, have fun.

Travel Logistics

The easiest way for most travelers to get to Skeena Wilderness is to make flight arrangements to Terrace, British Columbia via Vancouver, preferably with a Sunday evening arrival. Your hosts will meet you at the airport in Terrace and transfer you to our fishing lodge just 15 minutes away. On the way back, your lodge hosts will shuttle you to the airport for the morning flight to Vancouver and points beyond.

Please note that those visiting from other countries need a valid passport to enter Canada, and it must be valid for six months after the last day of your trip. The US dollar is widely accepted here, but we still suggest bringing Canadian currency for different gratuities and purchases.

You should travel with approximately $600 to $1,000 in cash for gratuities and other charges that must be paid in cash. However, credit cards are accepted for many other expenses. We also recommend guide and staff gratuities that are equivalent to $400 to $500 US per angler, per week. Tips are pooled and can be given to your host at the end of the week for distribution amongst the guides, cook, and staff.

Fishing Licenses

You will need an eight-day British Columbia basic license and a steelhead stamp. Both can be purchased online before you even leave! Classified waters licenses, however, must be purchased here at the lodge with cash. Our anglers typically fish three or four days on classified waters. Please be prepared to pay for your license on-site with cash (credit cards will cost an added 3%).

Power, Water, & Communications

Power is running and available 24 hours a day, with wireless internet readily available. Our visitors also get cell phone service with most carriers. You can drink the tap water but for those who prefer bottled water, it is available throughout the lodge. As for showers and toilets, you'll find a shared bathroom downstairs and two additional bathrooms upstairs.

Medical Facilities

The closest medical facility is in right in Terrace, approximately 10 minutes from our lodge. It is each guest's responsibility to disclose any special medical, physical, or dietary needs to Skeena Wilderness ahead of time.

Clothing & Laundry

When lodging in Canada, it is best to layer your clothes—especially in the fluctuating climate of the Northwest. Anglers should be prepared with thermal underwear, a fleece or soft shell jacket, and a rain jacket. Remember: synthetic fabrics are always preferred to cotton. Although we don't offer laundry service, laundry machines are on-site in case of emergencies.

Alcoholic Beverages

The lodge provides you with a glass of wine or beer with your dinner. However, guests are encouraged and welcome to bring additional alcohol if desired. For your convenience, your host will offer a trip to the local liquor store upon your arrival.
